P25 titanium dioxide is composed of a mixture of crystal polymorphs, including anatase, rutile, and amorphous phases. This unique combination of crystal polymorphs enhances its photocatalytic efficiency. The anatase phase provides high activity, while the presence of rutile helps facilitate charge separation and electron transfer, reducing recombination rates of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. The synergistic effect of these phases results in superior photocatalytic efficiency compared to single-phase TiO2 materials.
